The 100 Day Project - Week 8 and 9
I’ve been pretty busy with work the last 2 weeks that I didn’t post anything. Also I’m frustrated how big my pictures show up on the blog pages. I haven’t had the patience to figure it out yet :D
Day 46 - Wasn’t really thinking when I separated out the page and made the purple flowers field bigger than it should be. The windmill should be behind the yellow field of flowers. I like the texture on this one. I wanted to put more texture in the yellow field but it was too dark to do texture in yellow,

Day 47 - Wanted to use markers and also wasn’t really in the mood to draw but produced something anyways.

Day 48 - Rainbow lorikeets - Another quick one with Neocolors II

Day 49 - This one wasn’t easy for me and I do not like the end result. I wanted to see it through though because you never know, you might like the outcome… I started out with a blue marker for the sky. I then decided I wanted to use my PanPastels. The colors I have are earthy tones and really do not go well with the blue I used for the sky. I winded up toning down the sky. The scene of the town was also difficult for me with all the different perspectives.

Day 50 - I wanted to try this nice reference of a cart full of flowers. I really enjoyed using all kinds of colors and textures for this one.

Day 51 - Another one I enjoyed doing. The bridge a bit wonky though. I didn’t really pay attention to perspective when I drew it.

Day 52 - This is one of my favorites. I had a hard time with the stones but they came together in the end. Also the most popular one on Instagram. I’m thinking of making a print out of it.

Day 53 - Another fun one but not at first. I was trying to reproduce the reference as is and then gave up and decided just to use it as inspiration. It’s hard for me to stray away from a reference. I like how it came out. It can make a nice pattern too.

Day 54 - I really like the reference for this one, especially the colors. I was excited to draw it and of course things didn’t go well. I kept on though. I do like the colors.

Day 55 - Didn’t feel like drawing that day, but I didn’t want to break my streak. Chose a pretty simple reference. Not crazy about this one

Day 56 - I really like this house that was provided as a reference. I had to draw it. My greens for the windows weren’t exactly what I wanted. I’m happy with it.

Day 57 - When I started this one with watercolor as a base, it was just a bunch of blobs! I was thinking to myself how am I going to save this?! I focused on one section at a time with some Neocolors II and Derwent Inktense Pencils and now I really like it.

Day 58 - I had more time to do this one and really wanted to use a grid to try to get the proportions correct as well as the perspective. I started out well on the upper left hand corner. As time went on I was a bit impatient with the greenery. I still like it though. I forgot as I went along to erase my grid lines so most of them are still present.
