The 100 Day Project - Week 6 and 7
Well I fell behind in keeping up with my blog. Had a long weekend with family last week. It was nice not being on the computer. I wanted to keep up with my daily drawing and that fell to the side also. So here is what I accomplish the last 2 weeks.
Day 37 - Cherry blossoms. Someone had posted a few steps on how she worked this reference. I though I would try as well to see what I can learn and how it would turn out. Well I didn’t care for it. I would of done the background first, something I’ve learned during the 100 day project that I like to do now.

Day 38 - I decided to work on perspective again. The plan also was to make it colorful as the reference. I got impatient with the tiles so decided to leave it in pencil.

Day 39 - I decided to do watercolor for this lotus and use masking fluid for the lotus. I’ve used masking fluid before, but was a mess. I was hoping this time it would be better. When I tried to remove it, some of the paper came off with it. This is why it looks al textured.

Day 40 - I flattened the lighthouse on this one. I didn’t want to deal with perspective. I like how the tower came out and the grassy texture.

Day 41 - I really liked how this one came out. I like that I was able to show the reflection of the sun in the lake. I realized after I finished, I didn’t match up the shadows of the trees very well.

Day 42 - I wanted to start off with a different color for the background and used yellow ochre. I wished I had done not such a thick layer. Once I started on the leaves and flowers with watercolor it got all muddy. I switched to Neocolors and that seemed to help.

Day 43 - I tried to come up with my own colors instead of the colors of the reference but I had a hard time. So I added texture and some plants.

Day 44 - Someone on Instagram asked me if I would do my version of this reference of geraniums, so I did. I really enjoyed being loose with this one. It came out nice.

Day 45 - This weekend I did a session on trees from Katie Moody’s Patreon on trees. I really enjoyed it. I picked out another reference with an old tree. Enjoyed drawing this one.
